For a second straight weekend, French cities lit up with riots: fires, smashed shops, clashes with police. Authorities put 70,000 officers on the street and closed the Louvre and other Paris museums. Nearly 1,000 people were arrested Saturday alone after last weekend’s mayhem already left about 2,700 in cuffs.

Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez still said the marches “went well.” Betting markets disagreed — Marine Le Pen’s 2027 presidential odds surged to about 65% on Polymarket as the National Rally congress crowned her ally Jordan Bardella.

Cost-of-living unrest also spilled into Italian cities. Live updates and video: New York Post.
