Six days out from a Senate race that could decide control of the chamber, the Democratic fiancé of the Democrat who lost Michigan's primary says he's voting for the Republican. Jason Turkish, engaged to Rep. Haley Stevens, told The Detroit News he's backing Mike Rogers over Abdul El-Sayed, saying El-Sayed's rhetoric "makes folks unsafe" for Jews, and then showed up at a Republican Jewish Coalition event with Rogers and Ted Cruz.
That same night Stevens went on CNN to say she's still voting for El-Sayed: "Like a lot of households across America, we're a household divided." Turkish insists he isn't a Republican and will vote for Democrats "up and down the ballot," just not this one. Rogers' reaction: "I love it."
