The night before the election, Jon Stewart found his target: not a senator, not a candidate, but the fiancé of a congresswoman who lost her primary. Flashing a close-up of Rep. Haley Stevens and Jason Turkish on The Daily Show, Stewart said, “Oh, the fiancé is Jewish. That I buy,” then added that Turkish “looks like I tried to draw Stephen Miller from memory.”
Turkish is a disability-rights attorney who has been legally blind since birth, according to The Hill. Stewart closed the bit with, “Throwing away all of your personal and professional relationships over a perceived personal slight. That’s pretty Jewish,” and Mark Goldfeder of the National Jewish Advocacy Center called it Stewart’s “most antisemitic segment ever,” per Jewish Breaking News.
